At last! I have my Apache server working properly with mySQL 3.23.49 and PHP 4.1.1 . I have been able to create databases and delete them at will. I dont know what was wrong before but now I have overcome this problem and am making more progress into my project. I have also ordered ADSL from BTinternet for £150 , which has left a large hole in my pocket, but it had to be done. I am also researching more into the effects of building online communities and what they can and cannot offer students on the digital media production course. Also after an opinion in an email from Chris Linford (course director) I have decided to slightly redesign my site and follow some HCI (Human Computer Interaction) rules more closely.

ok. for some reason that I cannot figure out, I cannot create, delete or modify any databases in mySQL, I have posted my problems on various forums and now I am fed up so I am going to do a clean instillation(again) of Mac OSX.1 and PHP and MySQL.
Just hope it all works this time.

Im working very hard at the moment to get this project rolling. I have run into a few problems regarding PHP, namely PHPNuke. I get all kinds of errors and (for some strange reason) I cant create or edit any databases. Also the XML parser in Flash is a very complex one. for some reason Macromedia have made it very difficult to use. But I will prevail!
